Crystal L. Tyler is a Partner at IslerDare, P.C.’s Richmond, Virginia office. 

Crystal practices in the areas of employment and higher education, with a focus on Title IX issues. In her higher education practice, Crystal represents colleges and universities in a broad range of employment and student-related issues including litigation, advice, and investigations. She also serves as an outside, neutral investigator for higher education institutions in such areas as Title IX, sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment, and as a hearing chair and a decision-maker for Title IX and sexual misconduct hearings. In addition, Crystal trains higher education clients on issues involving compliance with Title IX, the Clery Act, and civil rights laws; drafts and revises policies and procedures that comply with Title IX; and counsels and advises on various policy matters.

In her employment practice, Crystal represents employers in litigation, mediation, and arbitration involving a full range of employment-related claims including claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and various other federal and state laws. Crystal also provides counsel and training to employers to help them reduce risk and avoid litigation. She regularly advises employers on various employment-related issues including personnel policies and handbooks, discipline, performance management and termination, compensation, wage and hour, and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.

Prior to joining the firm in 2023, Crystal was a Principal in the Richmond, Virginia office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
