What is “Employment Relations”?

It refers to the day-to-day employment law matters involving all aspects of federal, state, and local law.  We also assist clients with proactively implementing and administering best practices and policies.

Counseling and advising employers

We advise clients on day-to-day employment matters involving all aspects of federal, state, and local law.  We also help clients proactively implement and administer best practices and policies.  We have extensive experience drafting and reviewing personnel policies, handling hiring and termination issues, and advising on a range of other matters, including leaves of absence, wage and hour requirements, non-competition agreements, employee misconduct, performance counseling, and corporate downsizing.

Employment Discrimination, Wrongful Termination, and Related Tort Claims

Our lawyers provide sound, practical advice to help clients avoid legal conflicts.  When faced with litigation in federal or state court, we assist clients by evaluating the claims, by weighing the options available for responding, and by providing efficient and effective representation.  Our vast experience representing clients spans a range of proceedings and causes of action, including administrative claims before the EEOC, the Department of Labor, the NLRB, and state and local human rights agencies.

EMPLOYMENT Contracts and Non-Competition / Non-Solicitation Agreements

We regularly draft and review employment contracts for executives, non-competition / non-solicitation agreements, confidentiality agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.  The firm also has extensive experience drafting and reviewing incentive compensation agreements and commission plans.  In addition, our lawyers regularly litigate claims involving breach of an employee's duty of loyalty, trade secret theft, and breach of non-competition covenants.
